We are WASH partners with UNICEF for Kathmandu Valley with the consortium partners ENDO and SOYA at Lalitpur and Bhaktapur respectively. We have impacted lives of more than 25000 IDPs during the earthquake and continue to impact lives in the community with our work.

NCV had a lot of enthusiastic, young volunteers who were completely devoted for the community services and helping the earthquake victims. The activity of hygiene promotion became so dear to them. With basic initial training and IEC materials they landed in each camp with lot of compassion and will to help the IDP to manage their life with dignity in the camps. Our volunteers would return with the stories and challenges of different nature from each of the camps and motivated enough to improvise in their techniques of conducting the further activities.Read More
The most successful of our activities involving community participation was the camp wide cleaning. In Nepal, cleaners are not considered respectful persons and there is a lot of status taboo in doing menial work like picking garbage and sweeping the place. IDP would clean their own camp area and would not bother about the overall cleanliness of the camp. Seeing the need for the systematic cleaning and disposal we started our program for the camp wide cleaning.Read More
