Child Birth at Sherpa Camp
NCV has come to know about the child birth at Sherpa Camp. Pasang Dolma Sherpa has given a birth at the tent on 25th October. The mother is 21 year old, and her husband’s name is Pasang Norbu Sherpa. Their place of origin is Golche, VDC, Dippu, Sindhupalchowk. Their elder son is 2 years and 11 month. At our visit to the camp, the lactating mother was suffering from mild cold fever and dizziness due to weakness. Our team provided her with the medicine Cetamol and Polyvion. Now she is feeling well.
The challenges are Cold Weather and Food.
Due to cold weather mother and newborn baby’s health is affecting. Because the tent becomes very cold at night. She does not have supporting structure and zero source of income. There is no possibility of returning to her place of origin until the winter is over. Without dietary intervention possibility of mother and child are being malnourished. Child birth was done without the help of skilled personnel and there is no use of any type of medicine even a Naito Cream.
